We understand the appeal of owning physical card decks for our games. However, producing them en masse has a significant environmental footprint, which we’re keen to minimise. We’re exploring print-on-demand options for some of our Action Packs to provide a more convenient alternative. This requires finding printing partners that align with our environmental values, and we’re actively working on it.
Yes, we do ask you to cut out the cards. While we understand it might seem like a chore, we see it as an opportunity for mindfulness or a creative task for children (using safety scissors, of course). Alternatively, it could be an interesting task for interns or new team members to help them focus on details.
While printing does have an environmental impact, we’ve carefully considered the trade-offs between digital play and the tangible benefits of physical interaction. Our conclusion is that printing only what you need, on 100% recycled paper, coupled with multiple reuses, has the greatest benefit. We’ve also optimised our print designs to minimise ink and paper waste, further reducing our environmental footprint.
While we provide adapted gameplay guidelines and a digital deck for remote sessions, we don’t supply a digital environment for hybrid or remote sessions. For collaborative activities, we suggest using digital whiteboards like Miro or Mural, or any platform your team is comfortable with. However, this does require you to prepare and possibly train your team on using these tools. Additionally, you’ll need to recreate the worksheet templates in your chosen digital environment.
